Originally built in the early 20th century as a rural farm structure, the building found new purpose in the late 1970s when Leo Berkelouw established it as part of his growing book business at Bendooley Estate. The Book Barn became a home for rare, second-hand, and antiquarian books, where thousands were housed, restored, and preserved. Its lasting literary significance makes it a meaningful place to celebrate our own next chapter.

The Bendooley Estate Book Barn is located in Berrima NSW, approximately 1.5 hours south of Sydney and about a 10-minute drive from Bowral in the Southern Highlands. It’s easily accessible by car, simply plug the address into your GPS for the easiest route!

On-site parking is available at Bendooley Estate for guests attending the wedding. Clearly marked parking areas are located just past the Book Barn, with staff on hand to assist if needed. You're welcome to leave your car overnight and collect in the morning should you wish. We recommend allowing a few extra minutes to park and enjoy a short walk to the ceremony space.
